IFPH holds sixth interfaith meeting

Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony (IFPH), Manipur held its sixth interfaith meeting at Jamia Qasmia, Lilong on Thursday at 1 pm .
A press release issued by IPFH convener Deben Ba-chaspatimayum informed that the meeting held as part of series of reconciliation process was jointly hosted by Federation of Madrasahs & Jamaait-e-Islami Hind, Manipur as constituent body of IFPH.
The meeting began with host Mufti Salatur Rahaman welcoming members of IFPH and sharing core values from the Quran that support and inspire a culture of interfaith understanding and peaceful coexistence.
Attended by 34 leaders representing 20 different religious/faith/spiritual communities, it was decided during the meeting to submit a memorandum to the President of India through the Governor of Manipur, listing five specific appeals including cessation of violence, stopping hate campaigns on both sides, humanitarian relief services to the victims of violence across, initiatives for inclusive and sustained dialogue process in Manipur, and organise mass interfaith prayers on July 19 to further the campaign for cessation of violence and initiating inclusive dialogue processes to find sustainable solutions to protracted ethnic conflicts in Manipur.
