MLA assures resettlement of repatriated Meeteis

Expressing delighted that 212 Meeteis who were taking shelter in Myanmar due to the conflict since May 3 are returning to the state safely, BJP MLA Rk Imo assured that the government will try to resettle them to their respective homes.
In a video released, MLA Rk Imo said that 212 Meeteis taking refuge in Myanmar because of the conflict that occurred in Moreh returned to the state on Friday.
The displaced people are now taking temporary shelter at Assam Rifles camp, he continued, while adding that the government will try to resettle the displaced people at their respective homes.
He continued that the government will reconstruct the houses destroyed in the conflict not only in the valley areas but also in Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Moreh and others.
As a temporary shelter, the government is constructing pre-fabricated houses, he added.
