Clinic launches physiotherapy OPD ambulance

For the first time in Manipur, a well-equipped physiotherapy OPD ambulance of Sidayai Hemi Home & Physiotherapy Clinichas been launched by Karkinos Manipur Cancer Care and Research Institute director Dr Prof GS Moirangthem, on Monday.
Speaking at the ambulance launch function held at Nongmeibung Pung Makhong premises of the Clinic, its senior consultant Yambem Indibushan noted that ever since the ethnic crisis broke out on May 3 last year, people in need of physiotherapy, have been facing a hard time in accessing physiotherapy clinics.
Considering the inconveniences endured by the patients, the clinic came up with the idea of providing door-step service to patients through launch of the physiotherapy mobile OPD ambulance.
He further informed that the physiotherapy OPD ambulance is the first of its kind in Manipur.
For now, the service facility will be limited to Imphal area, he said, adding that the Clinic will definitely expand the service network to other districts as well.

Prof GS Moirangthem said that many people who are suffering from physical ailments and are bedridden are being treated successfully through physiotherapy, which is also effective in the treatment of cancer patients.
He also pointed out that there are many people in need of physiotherapy by staying in hospitals but are unable to avail the same.
As such it is commendable that the physiotherapy mobile OPD ambulance service has been introduced in the state.
Prof GS Moirangthem also expressed hope that the service would be made available in other districts at the soonest possible.
