Imphal, September 26 2024: The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union(AMGSU) has condemned the attack on a Hindu Temple in Senapati by unknown miscreants yesterday at around 1 am .

In a statement signed by its president LB Adhikari, the Union said that setting on fire the Lord Shiva Temple at Makhrelui in Senapati was atrocious.

Arrest the culprits involved in setting the Temple on fire as per the law of the land, it urged the law enforcement agency.

Notably, the fire was doused before damaging the Temple substantially .

Saying that Senapati is a peaceful district headquarters where people from different communities have been living together all these times, AMGSU added that some people with vested interest, however, are scheming to create misunderstanding among the people and disturb the peace.

The Union also appealed to all people to refrain from making unfounded comments especially on social media which can incite communal tension.
