Imphal, August 11: Intensifying the ongoing mass civil disobedience movement, Youth Affairs and Sports Assn Chingmeirong; Khuman Lampak Youth Sporting Club; Chingmeirong Maning Mamang Nupi Kanglup Association and Ema Panthoibi Meira Paibi Nupi Lup have announced that closure of all the Govt offices, private firms and educational institu- tions and business establishments in and around Chingmeirong from 6 am today to 6 pm of August 12.Nambol Area Joint Action Committee is reportedly steping up its forced closure of Government offices as part of the ongoing mass civil disobedience movement even as Unemployed Development Organisation Kshetrigao HQ Imphal East Manipur has appealed to all the Government employees to stop attending their respective offices as mark of solidarity to the people disobedience movement called by the 32 voluntary organisations spearheading the ongoing movement for withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur.

Expressing its solidarity with the ongoing movement, All Manipur Self-Employed Hotel and Restaurant Assn have also resolved to close all restaurants and hotels on August 13.Route No.2 City Bus Owners Cooperative Society Limited would cease service and hold a sit-in-protest demonstration at Wahengbam Leikai Bus Parking tomorrow in protest against killing of Manorama and expressing solidarity with the public demand for lifting AFSPA.

As per a resolution of arrived during a meeting on August 10, Kangchup Road Motor Transport Co-operative Society Limited would also stop services on August 14 for the same cause.

BJP, Heingang Mandal Mahila Morcha would be organising a dharna on August 13 to demand revocation of AFSPA, punishment of killers of Manorama and Jamkholet and removal of AR from Kangla.

All the classes of the ongoing training programmes of Institute of Co-operative Management, Imphal and NCUI-Women Co-operative Education Field Project, Imphal East have been suspended from August 10 to 12 following mass casual leave taken by the employees in support of public demand for lifting AFSPA.

Extending their support to the cause, students and gurus of Gulapi Nata Sankirtana Academy, Kwakeithel Nanganapi Thong today staged a sit-in-protest demonstration and shouted slogans demanding removal of black laws.

All the postal employees in Manipur have also decided to wear black badges from tomorrow during duty hours to endorse public demand for lifting AFSPA and punishment of killers of Manorama and Jamkholet Khongsai.

Teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students of Friendship Education Academy, Khurai have also started attending classes wearing black bad-ges from today to express the demand for punishment of killer of Manorama and withdrawal of AFSPA.

In solidarity with the suffering of the State people members of Trained Nurses Assn of India, Manipur State Branch would wear black badges from August 12 till 15.Citizens Club, Soibam Leikai; Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai Chaokhat Khong-thang Nupi Lup, Ibuthou Luwang Pokpa Womens Action Committee, Singjamei; All Manipur Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Dairying Employees Union, Sajenthong, Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, Apunba Manipur Lou-U Sing-U Lup, Yaiskul; Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Paona Bazar; CPI Moirang Local Council, etc, while condemning excesses being committed by security personnel have also announced their decisions to intensify the ongoing agitation for lifting AFSPA.

Meanwhile, All Manipur Scheduled Caste Students Union has lambasted Ibobi Ministry of trying to sideline the main issue with regard to the public demand for punishment of guilty Assam Rifles involved in the extra-judicial killing of Thangjam Manorama.

Instead of pulling up the guilty personnel, the State Govt is trying to suppress voice of the people by imposition curfews and using police force against the protestors, the Union rued.

It also wondered why the Minister and his Council of Ministers have to be so servile to the wimps and fancies of the security personnel who are subjecting the people to all sorts of atrocities.

Reminding the responsibility of Chief Minister O Ibobi towards the people who have elevated him to his present position, Lamthabung Area Voluntary Assn, Torbung Phougachao Ikhai Mamang has warned that him that he could be thrown out from his dear post if he does not understand the pulse of the people.

The Assn further wondered why Manipur has to still live under the subjugation of India Govt if it has no concern for the sentiment of the people who are suffering under the atrocities of Armed Forces.

While endorsing the pu-blic demand for revocation of AFSPA from Manipur, All Students Guardians Association, Manipur has appealed to the State police forces to restrain from using force against young students who took part in the protest demonstration.

In view of the reluctance of the Centre to revoke imposition of AFSPA from Manipur despite its rampant abused by security personnel, LMS Law College Students Union has asked the purpose of the Act, whether it is for protection of life and properties of the people or to terrorise the people.

On the other hand, United Kennel Club of Manipur in condemnation of the prolonged impostion of AFSPA in Manipur would be organising a sit-in-protest along with pet dogs at Pureiromba Khongnangkhong on August 13.
