Discuss to draft Manipur Rifles Bill in assembly: LCTT

Imphal, August 17 2023: Leadership Council of Thang-Ta Manipur has appealed to the government to draft Manipur Rifles Bill in the upcoming state assembly session and passed it so as to increase the strength of Manipur Rifles personnel in the state.

In a release, LCTT said that some provisions of Army Act should be included in the proposed Bill so that Manipur Rifles/local forces can help in controlling border, checking drug trafficking and illegal foreigners.

It also urged the government to discuss sincerely about resettling the displaced people both Meitei and Kuki civilians who are taking shelter at relief camps to their respective homes.

Appealing to restore peace, LCCT urged the people to jointly work for a united Manipur towards prosperity and development.
