AR pays homage to Dolaithabi martyr

Imphal, December 24 2023: Assam Rifles paid tribute to rifleman (General Duty) Alok Rao, who sacrificed his life in the line of duty on May 10, 2023, while combating suspected Kuki militants in Dolaithabi area, in a simple function held on Sunday.

Assam Rifles also distributed of six 1.5 KV generator sets to different villages in the area.

The primary objective of the ceremony was to honour the fallen soldier and strengthen the bond between the Assam Rifles and the local populace.

The six generator sets were distributed to the villages of Nongsum, Chanung, Uyumpok, Keibi Relief Camp, Sekta, and VPF of Sinam Kom area of Imphal East district.

Participated by Meira Paibi members from 36 villages of Sawombung and Pukhao area, the event began with a collective floral tribute to the late rifleman Alok Kumar.

Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) also paid homage to the slain soldier.

The ceremony featured patriotic songs fostering a spirit of unity and patriotism.

The statement said that Assam Rifles battalion at Sawombung has been working tirelessly day and night to maintain peace in Dolaithabi, Pukhao, Nongsum, Chanung, Sinam Kom & lshingthembi areas, resulting in restoring normalcy in the area, A total of 162 Meira Paibi members and 45 CSOs from 36 villages actively participated in the function, reflecting a strong community engagement with the Assam Rifles.
