Special legal aid & services camps opened

Imphal, October 05 2023:
National Legal Services Authority and Manipur State Legal Services Authority in association with District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West opened a special legal aid and services camp at the relief camp set up at Manipur College on Thursday.
The camp was opened as per instruction of the three-member committee appointed by the Supreme Court in order to provide legal aid and services to the displaced people.
More such camps will be opened in all the 33 relief camps located within the jurisdiction of Imphal West district.
The launch ceremony held at Manipur College relief camp was attended by District and Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum chairperson of DLSA Imphal West RK Memcha, CJM Imphal West cum secretary of DLSA Imphal West Bineshwori Maibam, SDO Lamphel Md Imran Khan, SDC Central-2 Lamphel Samukcham Jemmy, LADCS Imphal media coordinator Salam Debananda and DLSA Imphal West staff members.
Meanwhile, under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal launched special legal aid and service camp and organised orientation programme for the volunteers of the relief camp set up at Langmeidong Higher Secondary School on Thursday.
The programme was attended by District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal chairman and district and sessions judge Samom Ibjen, District Legal Services Authority secretary in-charge chief judicial magistrate Thoubal Masanna E Panmei, SDO Kakching Okram Sandyarani, chief legal aid defence counsel Maibam Paikhomba, deputy legal aid counsel Yumnam Johnson and DLSA retainer lawyer Kh Babita among others.
A free medical camp was also held at the relief camp in collaboration with Kakching CMO.
