NPP executives, MLAs reach Guwahati

Taking the non-resolution of the ethnic conflict in Manipur for over a year and half seriously as a responsible political party; executive members and MLAs of National People's Party (NPP) Manipur Unit, reached Guwahati on Thursday to attend a meeting organised by the party in connection with conflict on Friday.
According to a source, Meghalaya chief minister and NPP party president Conrad K Sangma will be presiding over the meeting to be held at Hotel Radisson Blu, Guwahati on Friday at around 11am.National vice president and former deputy chief minister of Manipur Yumnam Joykumar and other executive members reached Guwahati on Thursday.
In addition, four of the seven incumbent NPP MLAs, namely Kh Loken (Wangoi), I Nalini (Oinam), Md Noorul Hassan (Kshetrigao) and Mayanglambam Rameshwar (Kakching) have landed in Guwahati on Thursday, while MLAs Thongam Shanti (Moirang) and Janghemlung Pan-mei (Tamenglong) will reach on Friday morning.
However, MLA N Kayisii (Tadubi) will not be attending the meeting due to ill health.
As per a notification issued by NPP president Conrad K Sangma, the meeting has been convened to discuss what the party can do with regard to the prevailing conflict, which has greatly affected people of Manipur since last year.
Previously, vice president Yumnam Joykumar had accused the central and state governments, in a press meet, of deliberately failing to end the conflict and cautioned of withdrawing support to the state government if no concrete action is taken up within three months, starting from October 3 .
