N Ibomcha conferred 'Chingdon Athouba' title

Imphal, July 15 2023: Along with conferring the title "Chingdoi Athouba" on Ningombam Ibomcha, who sacrificed His life in Battling separatist elements at Khoijumant-abi on July 2, Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) conducted his last rites at Sanamahi temple at Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham, Saturday.

During the function organised jointly by the family of N Ibomcha and LSTB, people paid floral tributes to the photo of 'Chingoi Athouba' Ibomcha as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Maiba Loishang of Sanamahai Temple Board, Maibi Loishang, Pena Loishang and Eshei Loishang presented traditional songs and prayers.

Renowned personalities and people staying in relief camps present at the solemn event also extended financial assistance to the family members.

Speaking on the occasion, LSTB member secre tary Maisnam Shivadatta Luwang informed that LSTB will organise tribute ceremonies for those who sacrificed their lives in battling adversary elements on the 1st day of Langban month of Manipuri lunar calendar on a yearly basis and appealed all to take part in the ceremony.

A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to those who have sacrificed their lives for Manipur.
