100 state employees to join 'Delhi Chalo' march

Around 100 employees from Manipur will take part in the 'Delhi Chalo' campaign to be organised throughout the country on November 3 to push the demand for revival of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and roll back of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) .
Addressing media persons in this regard at New Secretariat, Babupara, here, on Friday, Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF) vice president L Sarat stated that over 1 lakh state and central government employees will participate in the 'Delhi Chalo' march from Ram Lila Maidan to Parliament in New Delhi on November 3 demanding' scrapping of NPS and revival of OPS.
In the said campaign, around 100 delegates from the state comprising central and state government employees would also be taking part with 80 already confirming their participation.
He further informed that the main demands of 'Delhi Chalo' campaign include revival of OPS and roll back of NPS; release of DA/RD along with the pending arrears of one and a half months; revise daily wages according to the Daily Wages Act; fill up vacant posts in various departments according to norms; provide retirement' benefits of pensioners; regularisation of contract/outsourced/daily wage employees; recruit employees under die-in harness scheme; and to set up the 8th pay commission.
Meanwhile, all pensioners have been urged to take part in the Pensioner's Day observance which will held at the Pensioners' office in Pishumthong and put up their issues and problems.
Members of Manipur State Pensioners' Union (MSPU) and Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) also took part in the press conference.
