Imphal, September 19 2019:
The All Manipur Petroleum Products Drivers Association (AMPPDA) has threatened to extend solidarity and support to the ongoing cease work strike of the All Manipur LPG Transporters Association in case IOCL and the Government resolve the issue of LPG transporters at the earliest.
A press release issued by AMPPDA decried that both IOCL and Government have been paying little attention to the cease work strike launched on September 7.The AMPPDA has been working tirelessly to bring in adequate volume of fuels to the State but it cannot see the plight of fellow drivers (LPG drivers), it said.
It warned that IOCL and the State Government would be held responsible for any shortage of petroleum products which may result from the cease work strike.
It then appealed to the concerned authority to release the two strikers arrested at Noney without any condition as a goodwill gesture.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Works Union has urged all the bullet tank trucks of the State to not take part in the escorted journey to get LPG from outside the State tomorrow.
