Additional Chief Secretary releases souvenir

Additional Chief Secretary (TA&H) Letkhogin Haokip, released a souvenir at the Conference Hall of the TA & Hills Directorate.
The souvenir was brought out by Shija Paramedical Research Academy (SPRA), Imphal in connection with the training and placement of ST students sponsored by TA & Hills Department in a 2 year diploma in paramedical courses during 2016-18 .
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Letkhogin Haokip lauded the efforts of Shija Hospitals in turning Shija into a healthcare centre par excellence and also urged the hospital management to review the cost, if at all possible, so as to relieve the health burden for the economically weaker section of the people.

Sensing the need of skilled paramedics in all periphery areas, the scheme was initiated by Armstrong Pame, former Director of TA&H.During 2016-2018 academic session, the 62 sponsored students who had successfully undergone the courses got full placement-within and outside the State.
Officials informed that stringent procedures were followed for selection of students where priority was accorded to economically and socially disadvantaged candidates.
Of the 62 students, TA& Hills department sponsored 60 students whereas an additional 2 needy ST students were sponsored by Shija.
The sponsored students had undergone diploma courses in Medical Laboratory Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Radiology & Imaging Technology and Ophthalmic Technology.
The souvenir releasing function was attended by C Arthur Worchuiyo, IAS, Special Secretary cum Director of TA & Hills, representatives from Shija Hospitals, officials and staff of TA & Hills.
