Bishnupur: MAMPIL to lock Govt offices from October 1

Asserting that Meira Paibis in Moirang Constituency did not support the 24 hr shut down called against the arrest of Hemam Boyai, personal secretary to Moirang MLA, Moirang Apunba Meira Paibi Ima Lup (MAMPIL) secretary Ninthoujam Ongbi Thaba Devi on Thursday cautioned that the Lup will lock Government offices under Moirang sub-division if dilapidated roads, health centres and schools are not renovated and improved by September 30 .
The 24 hours shut down which ended Thursday morning was called by the BJP Moirang Mandal demanding release of Hemam Boyai arrested by the Anti-Corruption Cell on September 16 for alleged irregularities in developmental works.

Speaking to media persons at Moirang Khoiru Leikai Mandap, Thaba said that Hemam Boyai was arrested by the vigilance in connection with alleged embezzlement of funds amounting to Rs 4 crore.
Asserting that the Constituency is facing various issues in all sectors- health, education and road infrastructure, she said that authorities concerned and Government should produce the 'lost funds worth over Rs 4 crore' or sanction new funds to carry out the works pending.
"If dilapidated roads, educational institutes, health centres and other infrastructures are not improved or renovated by September, MAMPIL will launch intense agitation and lock Government offices in Moirang sub-division from October 1," Thaba said.
MAMPIL president K Padamo Devi who was present at the press meet demanded that all involved in the alleged embezzlement of development funds be booked.
Members of Kege Moirang Kendra Apunba Lup and various organisations attended the press meet.
