Imphal, September 19 2019:
Joint Core Committee of Langthabal Chingthak, Chingkha and Khoupum, has threatened to launch intense forms of agitation with the help of various Zeliangrong CSOs if the State Government does not pay heed to the committee's demand for immediate release of the individuals who were arrested, and are currently lodged in jail, in connection with the death of Ningthoujam Babysana.
Langthabal Chingthak Youth Club treasurer Gaijanglung Kamson stated this on behalf of the Joint Core Committee while speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a sit-in-protest which was organized by the Committee at the community hall of Langthabal Chingthak today.
Demanding the State Government to establish the true facts about the death of Ningthoujam Babysana without being partial, and to deliver justice at the earliest, Gaijanglung Kamson contended that arresting innocent persons on the charge of suspicion, without substantial proof, for a long time is illegitimate and illogical.
He asked all those concerned either to bring out substantial proof or evidences if the arrested officials/individuals of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary are suspected of foul play in the death of Babysana.
If not, immediately release them, he demanded.
The locals of Langthabal Chingthak, Chingkha and Khoupum fully endorse the idea of awarding befitting punishment to any wrong doer as well as delivering justice to the deceased.
However, the locals cannot tolerate the act of arresting innocent people for prolonged duration on suspicion, without having any substantial proofs or evidences, Gaijanglung added.
He then threatened the State Government with intense forms of agitation with the help of different CSOs of the Zeliangrong community if the Government fails to pay heed to the repeated appeals of the locals.
A large number of locals from Langthabal Chingthak, Chingkha and Khoupum also took part in the sit-in-protest.
Mention may be made that N Babysana was found hung to death inside the boarding of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School at Canchipur in the morning of July 18.With the formation of a JAC in connection with the mysterious death of the 13 year old girl child, different forms of agitation, including bandhs/general strikes were imposed demanding justice for the deceased.
