Unidentified miscreants made a failed attempt to kidnap a woman while she was coming out of her home to buy medicines in Mayang Imphal Chabung Company Awang Leikai on August 15 .
Denouncing the act, a sit-in protest was carried out by meira paibi associations and clubs and organisations of the area on Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 6:30 pm of August 15 when the woman who was around 44 years of age was on her way to a pharmacy in Mayang Imphal Chabung Company Awang Leikai to buy medicines when unidentified miscreants came out of a car parked along the road and tried to abduct her.
As the miscreants attempted to abduct her, she shouted out loud and fainted at the spot.
Upon hearing her shouts, locals nearby rushed in and the miscreants sped off in the car.
Condemning the incident, Youth Sports Welfare Association and Joint Meira Paibi Association of Chabung Company organised sit-in protest agitation at Mayang Imphal Chabung Company Awang Leikai Khongoi Sorok.
