Onus on Centre to end crisis: Shiv Sena

Stressing the need for bringing a permanent solution to the over seven-month long violence in Manipur, Shiv Sena national secretary Captain Abhijit Adsul has said that Central government should do the needful to bring representatives of both the warring communities to the negotiating table.
After flagging off two ambulances donated by the party to the people of Manipur on Wednesday from party's Babupara office, here, Captain Abhijit told media persons that holding peace talks is necessary to bring an end to the ongoing violence in Manipur for which the Centre must take the initiative to convince the parties in conflict to hold dialogues.
The killing of 13 people just two days back was a sad incident and the crisis in Manipur also affects the country, he said, adding that MPs of Shiv Sena will table the Manipur issue in the Parliament for discussion to bring a solution at the earliest.
According to Captain Abhijit Adsul, he was entrusted deputed by party's national president and Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde to collect uptodate report on the present situation in Manipur as he (Eknath Shinde) takes the situation in the state very seriously.
He said that two ambulances donated by the patry for the people of Manipur have been handed over to party's state unit president to aid the people in emergency situation.
Captain Abhijit further said that the 398km long Manipur-Myanmar boundary remains unfenced and this led to spike in illegal cross-border activities.
Accordingly, the party will raise this issue in the Parliament, he added.
Shiv Sena state unit president M Tombi also told media persons that the party's national president takes the crisis in Manipur very seriously and accordingly sent two ambulances for the people of the state.
