Gangmumei to fight LS poll on integrity plank

Imphal, March 04 2014 : BJP can-didate in Outer Manipur P/C Prof Gangmumei has rolled up his sleeves to fight the forth-coming Lok Sabha election on three basic issues viz; cor-ruption free administration, good governance and protec-tion of the State's integrity.

Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek of-fice today, Prof Gangmumei stated that to protect the State's territorial integrity is an inescapable responsibility.

Not an inch of Manipur's territory should be ceded because of boundary fencing.

To a query put up by reporters, Gangmumei said that NPF is based in Nagaland and its only agenda is Naga integration.

"I would fight the agenda of Naga integration in befitting manner if it ever reaches Parliament.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is no superman", he asserted.

Claiming that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee assured on the floor of the Parliament on June 21, 2001 that Manipur's territorial integrity would be pre- served, the NDA Prime Minister again made it clear du- ring a meeting with Naga lea-ders at Kohima in November 2003 that the issue of Naga integration could not be resolved without a consensus.

In case NDA comes to po-wer at the Centre, it can cer- tainly bring about uniform development and public welfare, Gangmumei asserted.

Dr RK Ranjan, the party's candidate in Inner Manipur P/C said that more than 33 indigenous communities have been living in harmony since ages.

Apart from upholding their own identities, they have been collectively safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur.

He said that he joined electoral politics thinking that his efforts for development of Manipur would be more fruitful if he works from a political platform.

Only through a political platform, one can take up many eco-friendly projects in order to do away with the crisis of water shortage being faced by the State.

If the BJP candidates are elected from the State, Mani-pur can be a part of 'New Hope, New India', Dr Ranjan asserted.

BJP State unit president Th Chaoba said that the party is fielding its candidates for the Lok Sabha election with a vision to realize 'New Hope, New Manipur' .

Blaming the Congress Government for not doing anything towards resource mobilization and opening employment avenues to youth, Chaoba said that the Government has not been doing anything to take up solar power plants or take over Loktak Project.

On being asked about the resignation of Indira Oinam, Chaoba maintained that BJP is a big party and she should know the outcome of her resignation.
