Two abducted labourers remain traceless

Two labourers of a Guwahati based construction agency who were abducted in the wee hours of March 2 from Sombrei village under Yairipok PS in Ukhrul district remained traceless.
Police launched a search operation following an FIR filed by the Company at Yairipok PS.
According to the police, the two abducted labourers are working for Anupam Brick and Concrete Industries (ABCI) Pvt Ltd based at GS Road, Bhangagarh, Guwahati.
The abducted labourers are identified as Debasish Mandal (35) S/o Shamsunder Mandal of Suri village in West Bengal's Birbhum district and Ch Ajit Singh (27) S/o Ch Arun Singh of Rangir Ghat Part-II of Cachar district, Assam.
Debashish is a JCB driver while Ajit is a roller driver.
Nineteen labourers of the company, engaged in construction of Thoubal-Kasom Khullen road under PWD, Manipur, were staying at a makeshift tent at Sombrei village.
The two drivers were abducted by armed miscreants numbering around six at around 2am of March 2 .
Along with registering a FIR at Yairipok PS, Police started launching a manhunt to trace the missing labourers.
Construction work of the road however has not been disrupted.
TNAL urges: The Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang (TNAL) appealed on behalf of the Southern Tangkhul Area and Kuki people of Saikul to the concerned for the safe release of Debarish Mandal and Ajit Singha, accordin to a statement.
They both were kidnapped on the night of March 1, 2014 from Somrei Village camp of ABCI company.
TNAL claimed that both the emloyees are innocent and are dedicated workers.
Therfore, it urged the kidnappers to release them on humanitarian ground.
