Chief minister N Biren Singh inaugurated two branches of Manipur State Co-operative Bank Ltd, (MSCB) at Moirang and Mayang Imphal via virtual mode from the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, CM Biren conceded that the unprecedented crisis in the state has been affecting many people with hundreds forced to live in the relief camps.

He expressed hope that MSCB will positively extend their help to the fish farmers affected by the recent floods in the state.
The CM appreciated MSCB for its unwavering support at the grassroots level specially supporting around 1195 women Self Help Groups (SHG) and having extended collateral free credit worth around Rs 17 crore, around Rs 15 crore under Start up scheme, etc.

While disclosing that the government provided a one-time exemption allowing the Bank to revive back to what it is at present, he hoped that the newly opened bank branches would provide better financial services at the grassroots.
