World Pharmacists Day observed

As observed across the globe, Manipur State Pharmacy Council celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2024 at IMA Hall in Lamphelpat yesterday on the theme, "Pharmacists: Meeting global health needs".
It was graced by Dr O Sanahanbi Devi, Director, Health Services Manipur; Rajkumar Basumani Singh, President, MSPC; N Rimotkumar Meetie, Ex-Registrar cum Member Secretary, MSPC and senior pharmacist Ahongshangbam Manijar Singh as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Basutnani said that World Pharmacist Day is observed every year on September 25, to honour and acknowledge pharmacists for their important contributions to enhancing world health.
He asserted that World Pharmacists Day marks the anniversary of the inception of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in 1912 and was adopted by the FIP Council in 2009.Dr O Sanahanbi said that pharmacists are known to be the unsung heroes of the healthcare industry, as they offer crucial services that guarantee the safe and efficient use of pharmaceuticals.
"Pharmacists have a critical role in the healthcare system.
Their job is essential to patient care, health promotion, and illness prevention", she added.
