ATRPFM demands solution to ADC's issue within a week's time

Imphal, September 22 2018: The All Tribal Rights Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) has demanded the State Government to solve all the problems and issues of ADC in respect of Churachandpur, Senapati and Chandel within a week from today by way of floor test, failing which the association will be compelled to take up necessary course of action.

A press release issued by the general secretary of the association today mentioned that the association sincerely support and appreciate the BJP-led State Government for many changes.

However, it alleged that there are many loopholes which the BJP need to rectify once for all.

It explained that the ADCs under BJP Government have never been stable and the conflict among the BJP party or parties for the post of Chairmanship continues till date.

They were elected to work for the welfare of the public but the ADCs under the BJP-led State Government have grievously hurt the functioning of ADCs in hill areas as they continuously camp and contest for the post of Chairmanship which is unacceptable, it claimed.

Questioning why the election for Chairman of ADC, Churachandpur is continuously kept on hold, why the Senapati ADCs have been litigating in the High Court of Manipur without any solution and why there are new conflicts created by the BJP workers themselves within ADC, Chandel, it reasoned that ADC Members work for the public.

Strongly recommending, and demanding the conduction of floor test immediately for all disturbed ADCs to settle the matters once and for all, the association mentioned that the action of the BJP-led Government is totally unacceptable as there's nothing to show regarding improvement of the situations of the ADCs in respect to Churachandpur and Senapati, and now a new issue has arose within BJP Members of ADC, Chandel.

It warned that the support of the people should not be taken for granted and added that ATRPFM will not remain a silent spectator if the BJP-led Government fails to settle the matter within a week.

It is also urged the people not to vote for the incumbent ADC Members who are very actively involved in camping for Chairman post.

Further questioning where the fund of 14th Finance in respect of ADC, Ukhrul and some other districts, have gone, it warned that if the litigation and camping for Chairman post continue, the association would be forced to find out all the funds of 14th Finance with utilization certificates, images of work status and all related official documents and the concerned Members will be liable to pay back the money.

The funds of ADCs are meant for the public, not for camping and contesting for Chairman posts, not to litigate in Courts and not to be utilized as party funds, it added.
