Imphal, June 03 2023: Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) has asserted that the students community has been badly affected by the violence which broke out in the State on May 3 .

In a release, AIMS stated that the unfortunate series of events since then has left many students stranded and forced to take refuge at various relief camps.

AIMS also pointed out that the students community had already lost many months to the COVID-19 pandemic and other issues of the State.

AIMS appealed to the State Government, BOSEM, COHSEM and Private Institutions to consider the following points to save the future of the students -
The Government should consider providing identification documents to students whose homes have been destroyed due to the ongoing clash and are taking shelter at relief camps so that they may avail some form of benefit/ concession; Schools/ Colleges/ Institutions operating in the State should provide 10 percent reservation for students displaced by the violence and offer free education .

BOSEM & COHSEM should ease/ simplify the rules & regulation for transfer process of students affected by the recent violence to the school most convenient/ nearest to them.

Highlighting the importance of students for the future of the society and the Nation, AIMS appealed to the public to extend their support in making the above points a reality.

AIMS further appealed to the generous individuals/ organisations/ groups who have been providing relief materials to the shelter camps opened at various places to also donate books, school uniforms and other stationery items to encourage the students.
