Last rites of Laishram Mandir performed

The last rites of social activist Laishram Mandir was performed with great honour at his native place Heirok Part-I today.
Laishram Mandir died in an unfortunate road accident near Lilong Hangamthabi under Lilong Police Station.
The mortal remains of Mandir was brought from JNIMS morgue with a procession till Heirok and was accorded with floral tributes by the public.
The members of Heirok Apunba Club paid a gun salute as a mark of honouring the departed soul.
Speaking at the sidelines, Heirok Apunba Club convenor Roshan Meitei recounted the significant contributions made by late Laishram Mandir who was an active member and advisor of the club.
He took active participation in the important issues concerning Heirok and strove earnestly for the well-being of the people of the region.
The untimely demise of Laishram Mandir will be an irreparable loss for Heirok, he added.
On the other hand, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Thoubal has condoled the sudden and untimely demise of L Mandir who had served as a member of the committee.
A condolence note by Chairperson of CWC Thoubal, L Romen recounted the sincere efforts made by L Mandir for the welfare of children.
The committee also shared the pain and grief of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace at the heavenly abode.
Shaksam Thoubal District branch also condoled the demise of L Mandir who served as the general secretary of the branch.
