Imphal, October 26 2023: The JAC against the brutal killing of Sanggomsumpham Sahir @ Sana has suspended its proposed agitation for the time being, following an assurance given by the Chief Minister to nab the culprits within 48 hours.

Addressing a press conference today at Kshetri Bengoon Awang Leikai, JAC convenor Md Rafi Khan stated that a meeting was held yesterday night between members of the JAC and Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

He said that the meeting which was participated by PHED Minister L Susindro Meetei, Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha, Imphal East SP and Lamlai PS OC deliberated on the demands raised by the JAC.

Md Rafi continued that during the meeting, the CM strongly condemned the tragic incident and directed the SP to book the perpetrators within 48 hours.

"Taking into account the assurance given by the CM, the proposed stir has been suspended.

However, the JAC will claim the body only after all the perpetrators have been arrested", he added.
