Four-laning of NH-137A proposed

A proposal has been made to upgrade NH-137A i.e., Mayai Lambi from Wahengbam Leikai to Kakching Lamkhai, to a four-lane road, a notice issued by the executive engineer of National Highways Division-1 of PWD, Manipur said on Thursday.
As per the notice, the Proposed Right of Way (PROW) includes the stretch of road from Wahengbam Leikai (0km) to Ningthemcha Karong (4.35km) - existing ROW; Ningthemcha Karong (4.35km) to Mayang Imphal Bazar (22.10km) - 26.50 metres; Mayang Imphal Bazar (22.10km to 22.50km) - existing ROW; Mayang Imphal Bazar (22.50km) to Uchiwa (24.10km) -26.50 metres; Uchiwa (24.10km) to Wabagai Lamkhai (36.10km) 30 metres; Wabagai Lamkhai (36.10km) to Kakching Bazar (40.90km) - 26.50 metres; Kakching Bazar (40.90km to 41.80km) - existing ROW; and Kakching Bazar (41.80km) to Kakching Lamkhai (44.509km) - 26.50 metres.
Although the proposal might have certain variations at the time of finalisation of project, the EE requested the parties concerned to remove any encroachment/structures built on stated land of this ROW so that the widening project may proceed without any delay.
