Imphal,June 04 2013:
JCILPS has appealed to all non-locals residing in the state to remain inside their respective residences and shut down shops/business establishments own by them during the ongoing total bandh that forbids entry of non-Manipuris.
Recalling its earlier decision, a release of JCILP stated that people of Manipur should support the ban on entry of illegal migrant workers into the state that has come into effect from 1-5 June and forbid them from entering into the lanes, streets, houses from 6-10 June.
In order to refrain themselves from facing the wrath of mob, all the non-locals should stay indoors and shut down all their business establishments in the state during the said stipulated time from June 6-10.However, non-Manipuri students and players would be out of the purview of the restriction.
JCILPS reiterated that the demand for implementation of ILP is not to oust non-locals but to ensure proper arrangement to allow them to stay in Manipur with official permission.
So, instead of opposing to the demand, migrant workers should be happy and join in the movement.
However, non-Manipuris who have been given permission and allowed to settle here by the then rulers of Manipur should not invite their friends and relatives to settle down in Manipur, the statement added.
