Thoubal, September 26 2024: Nutritional food items, sanitary pads, calcium and iron folic tablets etc were distributed as part of Rashtriya Poshan Maah campaign 2024 today at Oinam Sawombung Awang Leikai Ibudhou Ngangou Lakpa Community Hall in Lilong Block.

The event was organised by CDPO, ICDS Lilong Block in association with District Health Society Thoubal.

Notable dignitaries present include Khumanthem Ranjit Singh, Pradhan; N Parango, DPO ICDS Thoubal; Ch Basanta Singh, DPM District Health Society Thoubal; I Bijaya Devi, CDPO Lilong and Oinam Sorojini Devi, Ward Member as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Ch Basanta highlighted the need for everyone to consume nutritious food including seasonal vegetables and fruits.

Further, he stated that ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife), ASHA and Anganwadi Workers should spread awareness about Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND) and other related programmes.

Aside from leafy vegetables and fruits, sanitary pads were distributed to adolescent girls and calcium and iron folic tablets were handed over to pregnant and lactating mothers.
