AMSU Jiribam demands immediate expulsion of erring teachers

A team of AMSU District Committee Jiribam conducted an inspection at different schools in Barak Circle, Jiribam on April 6 to take sock of the present administration and working of the schools.
"The team found many unethical and unprincipled practices where substitutes were hired to teach instead ofthe appointed teacher, students belonging to different classes were made to sit together in the same class and few teachers were found not even attending the schools at all, reports our correspondent Speaking to a team of media persons at the office of AMSU District Committee Jiribam, president of the committee, Y Sanjiv Singh called on the State Government to terminate the posts of two particular teachers who have neglected their duties to a great extent.
Y Sanjiv said that, during their visit to Bhutangkhal Government Upper Primary School, the team found substitutes teaching the students and one female primary teacher of the school was found to be absent till date after joining the school.
The president urged the Govt to expel the female teacher who failed to perform her duty as a teacher.
He added that the Durgapur Primary School was found shut by its SMDC on April 9, following the non-attendance of a teacher who was hired, after a joint meeting held with the ZEO, Jiribam and AMSU Jiribam on March 19, to solve the problem of insufficient teachers at the school.
The AMSU District Committee Jiribam called on the Education Minister and the authority concerned to look into such unethical practices followed at Government schools and further demanded to expel the erring teachers at the earliest.
Such negligence on the part of the teachers will pollute the education sector at the grassroots level, he added.
AMSU District Committee Jiribam general secretary Kh Tiken Singh was also present at the press meet.
