Four UG cadres arrested

Imphal, May 24 2016: A team of Imphal East district police commando arrested one active member of KCP (Kokai) while conducting search operation at Kshetri Mayai Leikai on May 21 .

According to a statement issued by the PRO of Police Dept, the arrested individual has been identified as Md Syed Nawas Khan alias Sana (24) S/o Md Chaoba of Kshetri Mayai Leikai.

He was arrested from Kshetri Mayai Leikai near ABA ground.

Incriminating articles were seized from his possession.

On his revelation six demand letters were recovered from the places where he had served the demand letters.

Investigation revealed that he was involved in transportation of arms and ammunition and extortion of money from the general public.

A case has been registered at Porompat Police Station and investigation is going on, it said.

Again on the same day at about 3 pm, acting on a specific information about the presence of some women activists of unlawful outfit KCP organisation at Ucheckon Khunou area, a team of Imphal East district police commando along with women police rushed to the said area and launched search operation.

During the search operation, one active women cadre of KCP (Paikhomba) organisation, namely, Naoshekpam Prabin Devi alias Ibemchoubi (28) D/o N Pralhada Meitei of Ucheckon Khunou was arrested from her residence at 3.50 pm and incriminating articles were seized from her possession.

On her revelation, another cadre namely, Md Mukram Khan (22) S/o Md Kamim Khan of Lilong Heinoumakhong was also arrested from Lilong Bazar in front of Petrol pump at 4.40 pm on the same day.

Incriminating articles were recovered from his possession.

A case has been registered at Irilbung Police Station and investigation is going on.

On May 22 at about 12.30 pm, a team of Imphal East district police commando arrested one active member of KCP (Kokai) organisation while conducting search operation in and around Naharup area.

The arrested individual has been identified as Md Amar Khan (25) S/o Md Anwar of Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai.

He was arrested from Naharup Thongkhong at around 1.45 pm.

Twelve demand letters of KCP (Kokai) along with incriminating articles were seized from his possession.

Investigation revealed that he had delivered one demand letter to Raunat English School, Kshetrigao Mayai Leikai and another at the residence of one unknown person at Kshetrigao near ABA ground.

A case has been registered at Porompat Police Station and investigation is going on, it added.
