Sohana said that she discussed all her doubts with her teachers both in the school and at tuition.
Sohana is a student of Nirmalabas High Schools since Class-II.
She opined that it is not right to assume that only class toppers can top the Board examinations.
Sohana said that she was not even in the top 10 till Class VI.
However, she found her place in the top 10 from Class VII and tried hard to enhance her rank year after year.
Sohana said that she could reach 3rd rank in the first examination of Class IX.
However, in the second examination of the same class, she beat all her classmates and secured top position.
In Class-X, the competition was quite tough, Sohana said, and added that she secured the 3rd position in the first term exam, 4th position in the second term, 2nd position in the pre-selection exam and 4th position in the school final examination.
The topper said that she studied around six hours a day and spent two hours in revising.
Saying that she was confident of achieving the milestone, Sohana said that she wants to give the credit of her success to her family, teachers and colleagues.
Regarding the present situation of the State, Sohana said, "Bandhs and general strikes give lots of inconvenience to the students.
Students are unable to go to schools and tuitions due to bandhs.
As such, education sector must be exempted from the purview of any bandh" .
Sohana's father Dr Laishram Birendro said, "We were confident that our daughter would find a place in the top 10.However, it is amazing that she has topped the exam" .
