Replay of Thangjing to Thangting case ? Names of Moreh leikais found changed

Tengnoupal, August 17 2023: The names of certain Meitei localities in the border town of Moreh have reportedly been swapped with names of Kuki villages on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) health cards.

This was discovered during the course of distribution of brand new PM-JAY health cards to displaced beneficiaries from Moreh sheltering in various relief camps in the valley.

Yesterday, PM-JAY health cards were distributed to 130 displaced inmates from Moreh and Churachandpur at Akampat Ideal Girls College relief camp under Thongju Assembly Constituency in Imphal East district.

Instead of listing the names of their Meitei localities in Moreh on these health cards, it was discovered that names of Kuki villages had been printed on them.

Notably, the Meitei area known as Turen Wangma Leikai was printed as Chikim village, Khunou Leikai as T Yangnom, Bazar Leikai as D Monaphai and Heinoumakhong Leikai as Chikim on the PM-JAY health cards.

Disturbed by this development, the concerned relief camp inmates have raised questions on the matter and urged the relevant departments to monitor the situation closely.

On a similar note, it may be mentioned that in the month of July, there was a case wherein the address of Air India's Airport Ticketing Office (ATO), Imphal International Airport was wrongly printed as Lamka on the flight itinerary of a passenger.
