KLA militants held with drugs, arms

Imphal, October 23 2023:
Security forces arrested two cadres of non-SoO group Chin Kuki Liberation Army (CKLA) along with 2.5 kg of opium, over Rs 4 lakh in cash and a huge cache of arms and ammunition today.
The two cadres of the CKLA were arrested from Chaljang, Churachandpur district along Indo-Myanmar border.
The two were carrying approximately 2.5 Kg of opium and Rs 4,86,500 in cash, said Manipur Police Control Room.
Arms and ammunition seized from them include two INSAS Rifles, one MQ Assault Rifle, one AK-47 Rifle and a Sniper Rifle with one telescope.

The security forces also seized from their possession, 109 rounds of ammunition (48 numbers of 7.62 mm ball ammunition, 57 numbers of 5.56 INSAS ball ammunition, and 4 numbers of Sniper ball ammunition); 1 Binocular, 4 radio sets and 1 charger.
In the past 24 hours, security forces carried out search operations and dismantled five bunkers in Dolaithabi Hill and Sadang Hill areas of Imphal East district.
A total of 133 checkpoints have been installed in various areas of the hills and valley.
Police detained 1,516 persons for violation of restrictions, added the Police Control Room.
