Imphal, October 23 2023:
Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM) former chairman Dr H Nabachandra has said that the council needs to conduct examination with integrity and sincerity for the sake of students.
Speaking as chief guest of the 32nd Foundation Day celebration of CoHSEM held at its auditorium, Babupara, here, on Monday, Dr Nabachandra emphasised that incumbent officials of the council need to conduct examination with integrity and sincerity despite facing hurdles just as former officials had successfully conducted examination in the past 32 years.
He said that CoHSEM officials need not fear for truth and should not think that they are being deputed for a very short duration.
In his speech at the event, CoHSEM chairman Takhellambam Ojit said that the council has been able to reach its present stage due to responsibility shouldered by former officials and their role in shaping the council must not be forgotten.
The council celebrates Foundation Day to honour former officials and to take the opportunity of learning lessons from them, he said, adding that the council was established to enable the state to adapt to changing education policies of the country from time to time.
According to Takhellambam Ojit, CoHSEM was established in 1992 after university and college education could not cover class XII.
Since then, the council has been shouldering the responsibility to conduct class XI and class XII examinations to lead students to the right path.
He then appealed to officials of the council to work collectively.
The event was also attended by former CoHSEM secretaries Sangarjit Khundrakpam and Ch Dhiren and former controller of examinations O Joy as guests of honour.
As part of the event, former CoHSEM chairmen, secretaries and present members of the council were honoured with presentation of traditional stole.
