Bodies appeal not to celebrate Chakkouba

Imphal, October 23 2023:
Citing hardships faced_by thousands of people affected by the on going ethnic conflict, various civil societies and clubs have appealed to the general public to forego celebration of Ningol Chakkouba festival this year in solidarity with the people in distress.
In separate releases, Young Progressive & Athletic Club and Apunba Nupi Meira Marup of Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai and Keishamthong Leikai 25 Apunba Nupi Lup (KLANL) appealed to the general population to halt conduct of housie, gambling (lagao) and other forms of entertainment programmes in addition to drop plan for Chakkouba festival.
