AMUCO releases fingerlings at community ponds

Imphal, September 26 2024: Fish fingerlings were released at various community ponds located in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts by members of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) on Wednesday.

The initiative was taken by AMUCO under the aegis of the Directorate of Fisheries, Government of Manipur with the aim to make the State self-sufficient in food production and for protection of the environment A team led by AMUCO vice president Santosh Akoijam, office secretary RK Munin, publicity secretary Heisnam Phoren, assistant organisation secretary Shantikumar Meitei and Bimolchand Meitei released fish fingerlings at Kangjabi Leirak Youth Club's pond, Tabung pond in Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, Heinoukhongnembi pond, Kwakeithel pond and Keithelmanbi UYC Club's pond.

The team also released fish fingerlings at Ningthoukhong Khunou pond, Ningthoukhong Kha Meitei Leikai pond, Narensena Ward No 13 pond, Thinungei pond and Sunu Siphai pond in Bishnupur district.
