The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) today conveyed condelences over the untimely death of Prof N Sanajaoba.
In a press release issued by GM Changjou, Chief, Deparment of Publicity, RPF, stated that the party offers salute to the Late professor, who was "a precious gem of mother Manipur" .
The press release stated that the professor was a rare teacher who always instilled courage and knowledge in the minds of the people of Manipur.
His death has left a vaccum among the people of Manipur that can not be filled up.
He was a social worker who took part in every movement of the oppressed people of Manipur, GM Changjou stated.
As a courageous teacher, Prof Sanajaoba Naoria always took part in all the movements of the people.
He had also written a number of books on human rights, and spoke the truth during various agitations and movements of the people.
He was a great leader who instilled courage in the minds of the people.
Not only a social and rights activist, but he also was a journalist, scholar, think-tank and patriot, the press release added.
Toijam Achouba, Chairman of the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) has conveyed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Prof Naorem Sanajaoba in a message of condelence mailed to the press here.
The Chairman said that it is because of Prof Sanajaoba's collection of the scattered historical facts of the society and putting them together in the form of books that we are able to stand as a distinct identity in front of the world today.
He was a man with whom the Chairman consulted on matters that the latter had no knowledge of.
He had a very good friendship with him, Toijam Achouba stated.
Since Prof Sanajaoba has left the world, people of Kangleipak would lose a man with whom people always discussed and consulted over various difficult issues.
He was a leader who bore sufferings in trying to make a stable Kanglei society.
He had also faced a lot of pains in trying to protect and preserve our identity.
He was a pioneer in making the indigenous script, language and history known to the whole world, the Chairman of KYKL stated.
In another message of condolence, the Manipur People's Liberation Front (MPLF) has expressed profound shock and sorrow over the sudden demise of Professor Naorem Sanajaoba.
Dr Sanajaoba was one of the leaders who built up movement of the student community of Manipur.
The books that he had written on the history of Manipur are gifts to the society's treasury of knowledge that will ever remain eternal.
He was not only a highly learned expert in his own field of law, but also was a man who always took part in all movements of the people.
The press release further stated that Prof Sanajaoba was the man who openly declared that the Manipur Merger Agreement was an agreement that can not be accepted in the eyes of internatinal law.
