The first phase fencing work at the international border with Myanmar will start from January next year.
In the first phase 10 kilometer long borderline at Moreh will be fenced with barb wire.
The project for fencing the Indo-Myanmar border at Moreh aimed at checking cross border movement of undergrounds, drug smugglers and other anti-social elements.
The ground work for the fencing has started.
In the first phase, the fencing works will be taken up from border pillar no.79 (near the Muslim Basti) to border pillar no.81 which is 10 kilometer in length.
Starting of making roads and forest clearance works was witnessed by a media team who visited the area.
A post of the 31 Assam Rifles has been recently open at a distance of around 500 meter from the work site to prevent any disturbances in the fencing work taken up by the Border
Road Organisation.
Two more AR posts will be opened soon in the area soon.
AR personnel are guarding the BRO workers in process.
Jungle cutting and road construction works to reach the fencing area had been completed.
The fencing work will be commenced soon.
Erection pillars beyond the no man land zone of the border have started.
Assam Rifles source there said that the fencing work will commence from January next year.
