Imphal, December 14 2009:
In protest against the abduction of Joint Director Akoijam Tiken by unidentified persons, employees of the Manipur Legislative Assembly today staged a Wakat Meepham at the crossing of Assembly Road.
Placards inscribed with wordings like 'We demand to know who and why Akoijam Tiken was abducted ?', 'Stop abducting people for ransom', 'We demand immediate and safe release Akoijam Tiken ', etc were seen being used at the protest site.
It may be recalled here that 50-year old Tiken had been abducted by four unidentified persons who came in a white colour Maruti car from his Mantripukhri residence in the afternoon of Dec 12 .
