Many continue to extend humanitarian aid

Imphal, August 19 2023: Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.

Lamjing Meira Club and Lamjing Meira Women's Welfare Association, Langjing Achouba today provided essential food items to the relief camp set up at Ima Panthoibi Community Hall in Singda/ Kadangband Part-I and village volunteers staying there.

Speaking to media persons, Lamjing Meira Women's Welfare Association secretary Kh Bilasini denounced the atrocities committed by Kuki militants against the Meitei community since the conflict began on May 3 last.

She assured that Lamjing Meira Club and Lamjing Meira Women's Welfare Association will continue to provide similar assistance to the village volunteers and displaced people taking shelter at various relief camps.

Kh Bilasni further expressed anguish over the failure of the State Government to take any action against the Kuki militants involved in the rape of a Meitei women.

To help the people affected by the present unrest, Wakhallon Mannaba Apunba (WAMA), Kangleipak in association with alumni of Chaoyaima Hr Secondary School, Thoubal Unique Friends 2000-2001 Arts Batch, today provided relief materials to the displaced people taking refuge at Tera Khongsangbi Mamang Leikai Community Hall in Bishnupur district.

Moreover, Ayekpam Tolen of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai and his family also provided stationery and essential food items to the relief camp set up at Lamsang Praja Higher Secondary School.
