Skill development training programme on embroidery, fabric painting kicks off

A skill development training programme on 'Embroidery and Fabric Painting' was inaugurated today at Pioneer Club community hall at Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai in Thoubal district.
The training programme is organised by the National Cooperative Union of India - Cooperative Education Field Project (NCUI - CEFP) Thoubal sponsored by NCUI, New Delhi.
The inaugural function was attended by P Ranjit Singh, Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd president; Jeena Potsangbam, Project Coordination Committee Manipur chairperson and Governing Council Member, NCUI New Delhi; Iboyaima Naoremcha Meetei, general secretary Pioneer Club Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai and Maibam Mema Devi, social worker as the presidium members.
The skill development training programme is being held with the main objective of imparting skills on embroidery and fabric painting among the womenfolk of Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai and surrounding areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeena Potsangbam said that the programme is aimed at generating a regular source of income for the women who are home-makers and to make them self-reliant.
It is essential to undergo training courses to enhance one's innate talents to overcome issues which they may experience at times of production and marketing, she said.
A total of 50 participants are attending the skill development training programme.
