Helen Adams Keller remembered on her 143rd birth anniversary

Imphal, June 27 2023:
Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur observed the 143rd birth anniversary of Helen Adams Keller at Tera Wangthonbi Leikai at its Singjamei Chingamathak office.
The observance programme was presided by founder of the centre, M Saratkumar and Rehabilitation officer Karnajit Khoibam who led other members of the centre in paying floral tribute to the photo of Hellen Keller who was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer.
As a part of the programme, talented differently abled singers also presented songs which are set to be released in a audio-visual formats shortly on the the eve of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The songs are titled "Yourakley Ngasisu Eikhoigi Paalan" and "Haifetangni Eina Yengluba" .
As per a statement of the centre, the centre is all prepared to build a special home for differently abled persons.
The centre also appealed to concerned authorities to alleviate the shortfalls and hardships faced by differently abled persons who are taking shelters in different relief camps due to the ongoing crisis.
