Imphal, February 27 2014 :
Chandel AC MLA N Victor, while maintaining that the FIR registered against HP Chaningam Anal is not reasonable, demanded unconditional release of the Chaningam Anal.
The reported assault on three students by commando and VDF personnel at Sugnu Bazar which rendered the students incapable of giving the ongoing Board exams was raised in the State Assembly yesterday by MLA L Ibomcha during Zero Hour.
He sought attention of the House to make special arrangements so that the students do no miss the exams.
Speaking to media persons in the evening, MLA N Victor said that HP Chaningam Anal was bringing back students who are appearing in the class X exam.
On the way, they stopped at Sugnu Bazar parking the Bolero jeep behind a stationary Shaktiman.
At this, some commando and VDF personnel asked Chaningam to park the jeep on the road side.
Chaningam replied that they would leave the place in minutes after having a glass of sugar-cane juice each.
This led to an altercation and exchange of blows between the two sides.
Registering an FIR and sending the Bolero driver to jail was something uncalled for, Victor said.
Police was making counter charges against the driver.
Only withdrawal of the FIR registered against Chaningam and his immediate release can avoid a strong people's movement.
It would be prudent on the part of the Government to investigate into the incident and establish the facts and circumstances, and take up necessary actions, MLA Victor asserted.
