attended the political conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Naolo said Mayang Imphal and surrounding areas are places with little developmental activities, and that there even poorer development activities at Laphupat Tera, Sekmaijin and within the Mayang Imphal area.
Most of the primary health centres located in these areas lie defunct with no doctors and nurses posted.
Residents of these areas have to come all the way to Imphal for medical treatment.
These are all due to the neglect of the people's representative in the state Assembly.
The Political Affairs Committee was formed to find out the factors behind the underdeveloped condition of the areas, he added.
Other leaders speaking on the occasion also gave the same observation and said that Mayang Imphal A/C is one of the most backward constituencies in the state.
Manglem who was invited to attend the meeting, did not turn up.
However, his younger brother K Tomba clarified that his brother Manglem has taken a stand to contest the election.
The political conference unanimously resolved to field Manglem as its candidate in the next Assembly election.
