Imphal, April 01: The Heirok JAC has drawn the attention of UCM, AMUCO, COHR, HERICOUN and other organisations as well as the armed revolutionary outfits purportedly working for rights to self determination of the people to clear the atmosphere of fear and insecurity prevailing in the lives of the innocent people living in Heirok area and their ongoing agitation.

Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club here this evening, general secretary of the JAC L Mandir informed that the JAC has investigated into the allegation of slapping Rs 20,000 each from each of the vehicles participated in the procession taken out in protest against the killing of Th Romesh, Th Premila and L Nirmala by some armed cadres of proscribed PREPAK on the fourth day of Yaoshang festival.

During the course of investigation at the office of South Eastern Transport Co-operative Society Limited, Thoubal located at Keishampat, the JAC team learnt the truth from Society secretary Tamiuddin, assistant secretary Bijoy and time keepers Kanta, Samo and Shyamkumar.

So the statement issued by the outfit through media denying threats given to the transporters is nothing but an attempt to create misunderstanding among the people.

Various social organisations should try to investigate and find out the truth, he appealed.

While informing that the people of Heirok area are living in dread, Mandir categorically stated that people should remember that PREPAK should be blamed if any untoward incident occurred in this connection.

Armed outfits purportedly working for the State and its support should not try to cover up their own mistakes and have the gut to admit their own faults, Mandir added.

JAC president Kh Ibomcha, who was also present during the press conference, informed that doctors have declared that the eye sight of both the eyes of Khwairakpam Rabika who is currently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital would not be able to restore.

Yet, the Govt has not yet extended any financial help to the victim, he lamented.

The JAC has also announced its decision of continuing with the ongoing agitation of the people until justice prevail.
