Loumi Lup demands removal of all bunkers

Imphal, July 15 2023: Demanding removal of bunkers set up in Kuki as well as Meitei settlement in the periph -eral villages, Manipur Loumi Lup has urged authorities concerned to flush out Kuki militants occupying Meitei villages.

In a release, Lup secretaiy H Ibobi Singh said that increasing number of Kuki militants' bunkers is creating fear among the farmers from venturing out to their held.

Though some steps have been taken up by the government to facilitate pad dy plantation, farmers will be reluctant due to the frequent attacks and firing by Kuki militants.

He appealed for dismantling all the bunkers of Kuki militants set up in foothill areas of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Kakching districts on a war footing and conduct operation to flush out Kuki militants from the area.

Later, the bunkers of Meitei village volunteers could be destroyed and begin cultivation, he said.
