Along with organising the International Writer's Meet, Apunba Khbrirolgee Malemgee Lup conducted a special programme of meeting with Ningthemcha Sana Yaima on the occasion of the latter's 77th birthday at JN Manipur Dance Academy, here, on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, social activist Ningthemcha Sana Yaima expressed gratitude to Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup to commemorating his birthday and providing an opportunity to meet with many writers of the state.
While conceding that he has been able to making some contribution for the state due to the trust, faith and encouragement shown by the people, Sana Yaima said his ultimate goal is to continue to work for the welfare of the people.
While expressing elation over emergence of many literary bodies and writers in the state, he called upon contemporary writers to come up with new words and further help in enriching the Manipuri language through publication of prose or poetry.
Reflecting on the current situation in Manipur, Sana Yaima said it needs no reminding that outsiders including those from Myanmar are trying to disintegrate Manipur and carve out a state of their own.
The government of India should also be aware of this fact well.
It is the first for the NIA to declare that terror groups based in Myanmar are trying to wage war against India by stoking the current conflict in Manipur.
We need to wait and watch what the government of India's next step will be.
The state government also need to pressurise the union government to take up steps as per the report of NIA, he said.
The programme was also attended by JN Manipur Dance Academy director P Bilash, retired professor Dr Hamom Nabachandra and Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup cum Library president Ibotombi Khumancha as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively while PWD retired chief engineer N Noren and Manuscript Custodian Y Chaoba were the resource persons.
