1st Thadou Trophy Open Football tournament culminates in style

The almost month long first edition of Thadou Trophy Open Football Tournament held at Damdei Playground, Taloulong in Kangpokpi District culminated in style yesterday.
Adim Pamei, Vice Chairman, Disaster Management, Govt of Manipur graced the closing ceremony of the tournament as chief guest and H Hangshing, Retd IAS, Founding Member of TSA attended as guest of honour while Stephen Thangtinlen Haokip, president, Thadou Innpi-GHQ and Yanglet Haokip, BJP Core Committee (Manipur) attended as functional president and special guest respectively.
Addressing the gathering before inspection of the players, Adim Pamei said that Thadou Tribe is one of the leading and exemplary Tribe in Manipur in the fields of Sports and appreciated the Thadou Trophy Organizing Committee for initiating such mega open football tournament with a significant motto "Fraternity through Sports" .
He continued that Thadou Tribe also gives a good name to Manipur in sports especially in Football and wishes the tournament leads to peace and harmony among the diverse communities in the State while assuring that he will look into the memorandum submitted by Damdei Youth Club.
The Disaster Management Vice Chairman also appealed all the community to support him in coming MP election next year and committed to work hand in hand with the people if he is elected.
While appreciating the organizing committee of the Thadou trophy Open football Tournament, Retired IAS, H Hangshing urge all the community to indulge in games and sports and avoid unwanted substances which could destroy the future of society and youths.
The founding member of TSA also briefed the history of TSA and how they work for the welfare of the society since its establishment with an aim to group Thadou community as one.
In the final match, TSA Chandel & Tengnoupal beat Kuki Football Academy with a solitary goal through its striker Peter Seiminthang in 28th minute to lift the champion trophy and received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with Trophy, certificate and medal while the runner up KFA received a cash prize of Rs.50,000 with trophy, certificate and medal.
Krespin of Abel Memorial Team and Peter Seiminthang of TSA Chandel & Tengnoupal bagged the first hattrick award and Top Scorer award respectively while Sanga of KFA, Lalminlen Vaiphei of TSA Chandel & Tengnoupal, Issac of KFA and Khengjang Youth Club bagged the Best Goalkeeper, Best Player, Man of the Match and Best Team award respectively.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee expresses gratitude to Social Welfare Minister, Nemcha Kipgen and K Lhouvum, IDES for donating Champions and Runners up Cash Prizes while it also thanks to each and every esteemed guest of Semi-Finals & Final, Robert Sitlhou, Chief of Taloulong Village, Damdei Students, Damdei Youth Club, DSA, individual and public who support in making the tournament success.
