Following the declaration of Manipur People's Party (MPP) that it would not field any candidate in the 2019 MP election, MPP Central Committee Member Moirangthem Totomsana (Nongshaba) has claimed that two unknown men threatened him at gun point today.
Speaking at Manipur Press Club today, Totomsana said that after the news of MPP's decision not field any candidates in the MP election was published in the local dailies today, two unknown men entered his residence in the morning and threatened him to clarify about the news item.
He claimed that the news published was only based on the response of the RTI which was filed to the Election Commission of India.
As per the response, MPP has been deemed as an unrecognised party although it is registered, he said and further conveyed that the response claimed that the Commission does not recognize the office bearers of the party.
