Sainik school staff to represent India in Fencing Wolrd Cup�2012 in Germany

Md Nizammudin, Chemistry Lab Asst of Sainik School Imphal has been selected by Paralympic Committee of Manipur & Wheelchair Fencing Federation of India to represent the country in the World Cup (Wheelchair Fencing) 2012 to be held at Malchow, Germany from January 26 to 29, stated a press release of PIB (DW) .
Md Nizamuudin, an ex-student of Sainik school Imphal who passed out in 2007, made his career in the field of sports by participating in the 1st and 2nd State Games for physically challenged persons organized by Paralympic Committee of Manipur in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
He won gold medals successively in the said State Championships.
He also represented Manipur in the 3rd and 4th National Wheelchair Fencing Championships organized by Paralympic Committee of Bangalore in association with Wheelchair Fencing Federation of India at Orissa and Chennai in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
He bagged gold medal in the 3rd National Championship while in the 4th Championship, he won gold and silver medals.
He was selected to participate in the prestigious World Cup (Wheelchair Fencing) 2012 in the trial selection conducted on Dec 15 and 16 last year by Wheelchair Fencing Federation of India at Kanteerva Stadium, Bangalore under the aegis of Paralympics Committee of Bangalore, India.
He is the first ever fencing player of the country to participate in a World Cup Tournament, it added.
